valentine time! | bismarck, nd child photographer

I always have fun thinking up ideas for Valentine cards for the kids.  This year, I saw so many cute ideas online, but I had the idea for Cohen’s in my head for awhile.  I decided to use thus image I got of him a couple weeks ago because I figured it went well with the common, cheesy Valentine line. These are Oreo dipper things with scrapbooking paper wrapped around them. Of course, Rory Jean wanted nothing to do with my ideas.  So, we ended up going to Target and I just let her pick outView full post »

cohen at 18 months | bismarck natural light photographer

Finally, some new photos of the sweetest little man ever.  This kid, I have to admit, has me wrapped around his cute little finger.  I don’t know what it is.  I mean, I remember thinking Rory was the most adorable baby, too, but I cannot get over him.  Maybe it is a thing baby boys have on their mamas?  In any event, he is extremely lucky I feel this way because his cuteness cancels out his naughtiness.  Oh man can he throw a tantrum!  And test my patience to the last thread, especiallyView full post »

dusting off the canon | bismarck, nd children’s photography

I think I have been blogging for three-ish years now, and this happens every year.  I finish up the crazy fall photography season, and just put the camera away for awhile so I can focus on my family again.  There is so much to do and enjoy during the holidays, it is easy to do.  In fact, this year at Christmas, I didn’t take one photo of my kids.  At the time, I thought it was a great idea to just sit back and enjoy watching them, but now that it has come and gone, I am a bit sad aboutView full post »

papa’s pumpkin patch 2010 | bismarck, nd

A couple weeks ago, KaCee and Emma joined us at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch.  It was our one and only trip this year, and we always have so much fun out there.  We had so many beautiful fall days, and this was no exception.  It seemed they were a little short on pumpkins, but that only meant it was easier for Cohen to run wild!  Whichever direction we all went, he literally walked the opposite direction.  LOL!  And Emma was just her usually smiley self.  Love that girl!  Rory’s favoriteView full post »

first day of pre-k!

Today was an exciting day!  Rory started pre-kindergarten.  We were thinking that she wouldn’t be able to go to preschool this year just because of the feasibility of me getting her picked up, dropped off, taken to daycare, all of that.  The timing wasn’t working with my work schedule, and I was a little bit disappointed.  But last week, there was a last minute cancellation at the one school that would work for us, and we got the spot!  Last night, she had picked out her outfit andView full post »

the farm

Last weekend (always at least a week behind on my blogging), we spent most of Sunday out at grandma and grandpa’s house.  They’re preparing to sell the farm, so I thought it would be great to get some photos of Rory out there.  Of course, there are much more exciting things to do at the farm besides getting your picture taken by your mother.  She was busy watering the flowers, but she gave me a few minutes without complaint.  View full post »

our little monster

He’s pretty much been called Cohen Monster by the whole family since he came home with us, so a monster party was only fitting.  The poor guy is dealing with a cold, and a nose that has been running like a faucet, so he was a little out of it for part of the day, especially after not much of a morning nap, but I think he had a great birthday.  It was so nice to have all of our family and friends there, so thank you all for helping us celebrate!  I was worried it was going to be unbearablyView full post »

happy 1st birthday, cohen thomas!

You’re sweet, snuggly, funny, mischevious, smart, busy, and best of all…mine.  Here’s to one of the fastest years of my life.  I feel like there is no way it was already a year ago that I met you, and even though you’ve grown and changed so much, when I’m rocking you to sleep and I look at you, to me, you are the same tiny baby we brought home.  I love you! View full post »

no words

It’s late, and I don’t have much else to say but that I LOVE these babies.  So, so much.  Looking through these as I post them, I get tears in my eyes because I am just so grateful to be their mother and so grateful for our family.  Sometimes stress and sleep deprivation get the best of me, and I have a hard time keeping it all in perspective, but at the end of the day, I love them more than I did the day before.  How that’s even possible, I don’t know.View full post »
