happy mother’s day | bismarck, nd child photographer

These photos have nothing to do with Mother’s Day other than, since it’s Mother’s Day, I took the time to finish editing some of them.  Cohen really doesn’t sit still anymore.  At all.  That is, unless you put him in the grass.  He wasn’t too sure what to think of it, and when I walked out and saw him sitting so nicely, I knew I needed to take advantage of that.  In fact, I am now thinking of bringing a piece of sod, just large enough for his little hiney, into theView full post »

just two for today

Gosh, I haven’t updated this in awhile.  I have a ton to write and a ton more photos of Cohen from Monday evening when we were hanging in the yard, but no time right now.  It feels so good to get outside and shoot for a change.  I was playing around with some different post processing on these two before bed last night.  Anyway…View full post »

nine months old {bismarck, nd baby photographer}

It has been a rough week on this baby boy.  A rough week on all of us, really.  He just hasn’t been acting like himself and has had such a hard time sleeping, which is totally unlike him.  At nine months, he still has no teeth, and all of his symptoms lead us to think that is the culprit of all of his problems.  He has been such a trooper, though, and after a good visit to the chiropractor along with some teething tablets (they really do help!), he has had a much better weekend. This weekView full post »

meet simon

Our newest little family member!  We are so excited to have him!  He is just over nine weeks old. Cohen wasn’t too sure what to think about this! You know how they say the owner and the dog resemble eachother? Well, I didn’t notice until I was editing these, but Cohen’s shirt and Simon’s collar match, and I think their hair color is even a little bit similar!View full post »

more than just paint

The time has come.  On Thursday, we painted Rory’s room in preparation for her baby brother to move in.  It wasn’t long after I started in on the task that it dawned on me.  We moved into this house on April 14, 2006, just a little more than a month before Rory was born.  A couple weeks prior to moving day, coincidentally almost exactly four years ago, we were painting this very same room for the first time.  My belly was *out to here* and I was so excited to finally get moved intoView full post »

ten on tuesday {more snapshots}

1. I’ve been feeling totally uninspired lately when it comes to photography.  I’m sick of shooting in my house.  Sick of it.  Green grass, please hurry up!  Thank goodness the weather has warmed up, and I can see the end of winter in sight.  I’m not going to actually say it is over yet, though.  You never know around here! 2.  The thought of spring makes me anxious for spring photo sessions!  If you are thinking about scheduling one, now is the time because, as always, my timeView full post »

uh oh {bismarck children’s photographer}

Just a couple days over eight months old today.  After mastering the army crawl about a month ago, he never really ventured too far, and stuck to the living room carpet.  Now?  He is all over the place!  Leaving a trail of drool behind him and almost crawling right out of his pants!  I’ve already heard, “No, no, buddy!” and “COHEN.  NO!” about ten times from his sister this afternoon, and the baby gate went up yesterday. The other day, I ran downstairs to put inView full post »

five minutes {bismarck child photographer}

It amazes me all the things this kid can do in five minutes.  It really makes you wonder what is going through his little brain!  My favorite part is where he lost his paci, so he first tries his hand and then quickly moves on to better things…the highchair tray! Be sure to become a fan of Everyday Art Photography!View full post »

10 on tuesday {snapshot edition}

It’s been a long while since I’ve done this.  I have so many snapshots of the kids and little things to jot down, so I’m going to try to remember some of it. 1.  First up…the Monster is already 6 months old.  Unbelievable.  Actually, more than 6 months now, but this was taken around the 6 month mark. 2.  At his 6 month checkup, he weighed in at 16 pounds, 9 ounces and 27 3/4 inches.  Such a tall and skinny guy!  And tell me how this works…at both his 4 and 6monthView full post »
