the day before kindergarten

Oh, what a week.  Tomorrow marks another huge milestone in the life of our Rory Jean; the first day of kindergarten.  It seems like that is all we’ve talked about for the last month, and it has been so exciting, but this week everything has come so fast.  I am feeling overwhelmed by all of the details.  Forms, fees, lunch tickets, drop off’s, after school programs, dress codes.  I have put it all off in hopes of remaining in denial as long as possible, but now I think I am behind,View full post »

aden | six days old

I’m so excited to share these with you all!  I have a new nephew!  He is the sweetest thing, too.  I enjoyed my time with him, and as I was editing these images, I found myself wishing I could go over and visit him again.  I’m so happy for him mommy and daddy, and we are so blessed to have him in the family!   Everyday Art Photography | Bismarck, North Dakota infant photographerView full post »

splish splash birthday bash

Only being a little more than a week apart, Cohen and Emma have both turned two, and last weekend we celebrated with a big birthday bash.  It was so much fun, and I swear the day was a reminder to me that God really does answer prayers.  First, the weather…the weekend before we had unbearable heat and humidity, and there was a call for thunderstorms the day of the party.  The weather turned out to be absolutely perfect.  We really couldn’t have asked for a better day.  Then,View full post »

emma grace

Oh, Emma.  Where do I start with her?  She is about to turn two, and she is as sassy as ever.  Don’t be fooled by her tiny little frame; she has a BIG personality!  She loves playing kitchen when she comes to our house.  That’s the first thing she goes to when she gets here.  Her and Cohen love to hate eachother.  One minute they’ll be getting along great, the next someone is crying.  Typical two year olds, for sure. One night, Emma stayed the night at our house, and rightView full post »

sweet kate & family

When Kate’s mom pulled her out of the car when they arrived for their session, Kate had a big smile on her face.  I think that was a good sign as to how this session would go!  What a happy little girl!  It was so fun meeting this family, and it was totally obvious how in love they are with their baby girl.  Those chubby cheeks and brown eyes?  She is simply adorable.  I think she had a good time becoming a little more familiar with the outdoors, too.  Rocks, grass, trees…she got toView full post »

blake turns two!

It was two years ago that his mom and I spent most of the 4th of July indoors trying to keep our large, pregnant selves cool.  Talking about swollen limbs, inductions, and babies, I’m not sure we even knew how our boys were going to change our lives and the entire dynamic of the friendship of our families.  It has been so much fun seeing them grow up side-by-side, and I can only imagine what is yet to come. Blake has a signature serious face, and I couldn’t help but laugh when IView full post »

time for tea | bismarck, north dakota children’s photographer

Her “purple blankie” was given to her by her grandma when she was first born.  Who knew she’d grow so attached to it?  Kitty is from our very first trip to Barnes and Noble together.  She had just learned to walk, and she walked right up to the first shelf she saw that was at her level, grabbed the kitty, and refused to let go.  So he came home with us, and he has slept in her bed ever since.  Hunny Bunny was given to her by the Easter bunny on her first Easter.  AnotherView full post »

Finally, the last series from our girls trip!  I’m finally going to get back to my client sessions after a little break, so I needed to get these done!  When we planned this trip, I knew I wanted to take the girls out for a little session.  I had received a location recommendation from a friend, we talked the girls into wearing what we wanted them to wear (this was no easy feat, let me tell you), the girls picked out accessories at the outlet mall; there was much talk and planning leadingView full post »
