Well, hello there!  I’m a little behind on my blogging, and haven’t been around here in awhile.  I’ve been much too busy shooting and editing sessions, and ordering and packaging prints and holiday cards.  Unfortunately that has almost come to an end, so I’m here to catch up!  With the (dare I say it?) snow just around the corner, I am trying to squeeze all of my wonderful client’s outdoor sessions in before Halloween.  This family can attest to the reason why.  ItView full post »

taylor & kendal

I just adored this family!  These girls had me cracking up from the minute I first met them, and I knew we’d hit it off when I learned they knew everything about princesses!  I’ve gone through about four years of princess obsession in my house, so I am well versed in that!  I’ve had several of my sessions postponed due to the windy and rainty weather lately, but the evening we had this session, it was gorgeous outside.  The perfect evening, for sure.  To top off my time withView full post »

dawson & carson

I had so much fun with these brothers!  It isn’t often that I work with siblings who have more than a couple years between them, and it was so sweet to see them interact together.  I loved how Dawson tried so hard to get Carson to participate in the photo shoot, which, for a two year old, was probably the last thing on his mind!  And they were so handsome in their colorful ties!  Don’t you agree? gaege and his family

I always get so excited when a past client contacts me again for family photos.  It is such an honor to be given the opportunity to capture anyone, but my absolute favorite is capturing a family because it is such a special thing to see the relationship between people who love one another most come through my camera.  Especially the relationship a mother or a father has with their child.  If I’ve been reminded of anything in the past few months, having a two year old at home myself, it isView full post »

I always get so excited when someone contacts me for a newborn session.  Not just for selfish reasons because I can’t deny that I would do anything to snuggle a newborn for a couple hours every day, but also because it is the most special time.  Those first few weeks when all babies do is eat and sleep.  And while you are usually at home not doing much but feeding and changing your baby, and sleeping yourself, that time goes by SO quickly.  And in a matter of just three or four weeks,View full post »

Last weekend, I had a great session with this senior guy. I’m sure spending a couple hours on a Saturday night with me is not on the top priority list for most high school guys, but he was a good sport, and I think we got some great images that will hopefully make his mom happy!  Everyday Art Photography | Bismarck, North Dakota senior photographyView full post »

friendly neighbors

This family is so great.  They are our neighbors down the street, and while it is not THAT far away, I don’t really get down there much, but every time we are out or pass by them in our cars, we always get a smile and a wave.  Love that!  I had such a fun time with their session, and I am pretty sure we broke a record for the shortest family session in Everyday Art history.  Both kids were so cooperative!  Miss Avery is literally a fashion model.  She showed me her runway walk andView full post »

do they look familiar?

In order to prepare for this post, I dug deep in the archives and counted how many times I’ve photographed these girls and their family.  I tallied up a total of six times!  We have a great time each time we do a session, and it is awesome to see how much the girls have changed in looks, yet not so much in their personalities.  Even at age 1 little Karli was a spunky one, and her older sister Aubrey has always been a little more quiet.  I just love working with them, and I love that theyView full post »

1st day of kindergarten

It went off without a hitch!  It sounds like she had a great day.  She was a bit cranky this evening on the way home, but once we got some food in her and a little down time, she had all sorts of stories to tell and even a new song to sing. It was so funny, this morning, I wanted to make sure to get a couple of photos of her before we left.  I figured I’d spare her the embarrassment of me bringing the big camera to the school.  Last year when she started pre-k (ugh, look how muchView full post »
