I’ve been teaching my beginner DSLR camera class, the Everyday Life Workshop, for five years now, and as a result I receive a lot of emails and questions from parents about what is the best DSLR camera to buy. Last week, I took to my Facebook page with a live video where I covered some general information for those in the market to buy. Please feel free to visit my page over there to watch that video! I thought I would recap the info shared here so others may refer back to it in theView full post »
Does this story sound familiar to you?
You became a new mother and your baby was SO adorable that you just knew you needed a great camera to be able to capture every ounce of cuteness and all the milestones to come. So you invested in a DSLR camera and soon realized that getting the shots you’d planned on wasn’t as easy as you’d hoped it would be. Soon, your baby was growing up and actually moving and getting those beautiful photos you’d thought you would became evenView full post »
I can’t believe it’s time to start thinking about the holidays, but they are quickly approaching! I’ve decided to cross my fingers for continued good weather through October and offer some Christmas mini sessions for the first time in a couple of years. These limited edition sessions will be set in front of a classic red barn backdrop in rural Bismarck, ND…perfect for your Christmas cards!
Sessions will take place the evenings of Saturday, October 28 & Sunday,View full post »
This little guy was an angel for his session. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph his family since his big sister was born, and I am so looking forward to photographing him in his first year, too!View full post »
Last spring, my daughter turned 10 years old and I wanted to do something with her that would really celebrate that milestone. Something that would make her feel as special and as cherished as she is to all of us. Family photos are wonderful, and sweet photos of our children together are worth their weight in gold for a mother, but there was something that came out of that session with just her that was simply magical. One thing that is likely true for females of all ages is that when youView full post »
I very rarely photograph couples because I’m not a wedding photographer, so when I got to photograph my brother and his beautiful bride-to-be, I was in for a special treat. I loved this session with them, and I can’t wait until the day when I get to photograph them again, maybe next time with a sweet little baby?View full post »
The Everyday Life Workshop is for you if:
You have invested a lot of money in a DSLR camera and still don’t feel like you are getting great photos of your kids.
You have looked at all the buttons on your camera and decided it would just be easier to stick to Auto mode.
You feel like you sometimes get a “lucky shot” and would like to make that happen more often.
It is important to you to document the lives of your children, especially while they are young.
You need a day just for YOU to learnView full post »
Okay, I’m first going to just address the big elephant in the room. This sweet baby was born way back in January. I haven’t blogged any sessions for a very long time. But I feel badly that I haven’t shared all of these beautiful babies and families with you, and so I’ve decided to change that! There are going to be a few sessions from last year and a lot of sessions from this year rolling out on here in the coming weeks, and I’m excited for you to see themView full post »
“I highly recommend the Everyday Life Workshop! Megan is so knowledgeable & patient that she made it a breeze to not be afraid of my DSLR camera. I had my Canon for several years and never once changed the setting off “auto”. This awesome 1-day course allowed me to now take dramatically better photos by learning the basic principles of my DSLR camera. It was a great atmosphere with nice reference material, fun photo subjects, awesome food – just wonderful! I am nowView full post »
