I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family since before their little guy was even born.  (If you want a flash back, here you go:  maternity & newborn, 6 months, 1 year and now he’s 2!)  I can’t tell you how much I treasure my return clients.  Having the opportunity to watch their family grow and capturing them from year to year is not just a joy, but a privilege, as well.

Last year, after the busy season was gone and I was taking a much needed break over the holidays, I was jotting down some ideas about where I wanted to take my business in the coming new year.  The thing that I kept coming back to is that I don’t want to just provide digital images that, a few months after they are created, are long forgotten and lumped into the pile of the hundreds from years before.  It’s really important to me that my clients walk away with more than just some more pictures to add to their hard drive.  It’s important to me that my images bring out more than just a photograph of what your child looked like at age 2, but also who your child was at age 2.  I think that last statement is really where my photo & film story idea came to be.

Going through the images and video that I am capturing at my sessions this year to put together these stories has been such an incredible experience.  The feedback from my clients has been amazing, but more than that the process of pulling them together has helped me to learn more about the families that I work with.  I’ve spent countless hours in front of my computer, vision blurred by tears that seem to just sit inside the corners of my eyes.  There is nothing more beautiful than the love between a family, and I love that so much of that beauty can be seen in these stories.
