Merry Christmas to you all! I hope you spent your holiday sharing it with those you love! I know I did. This year, 2012, has been a hard one for my family for a several varying reasons, yet I am ending it feeling more fulfilled, more grateful, and more at peace than I have ever been. While it has been filled with struggles, God has filled my life with people who have inspired me and encouraged me, and for that I am so thankful.
I normally start the new year with a contest and giveaway, but this year I am doing some things different. We all know about the tragic events that happened on December 14 in Newton, CT. Shortly after, a phenomenon of giving away portrait sessions to deserving families began on Facebook, inspired by The Olivia Act. I am joining in the act of giving away a session to a deserving family, so please go to my Facebook page to read the details of that and email me at everydayartphoto@gmail.com to nominate someone you feel deserves to be blessed with a family session in the coming year.
Of course, hearing of the children’s lives who were lost that day broke my heart, and as if I didn’t need another reason to be even more thankful for these two, I was. I had been waiting to share these images until after our Christmas card was sent, so they were taken at the end of September. I just adore these photos of my children!
On my top five list of things I love most about Christmas, it is giving and receiving cards! I love to see how our family and friend’s have changed over the past year. Here are some (lackluster) images of our card from this year.
