Oh man, it was SO hard for me to narrow down the images to share with you from this session! This sweet baby has made an appearance here before, last fall with her family and again this winter. Her mom, Erin Vournas, is a dear friend of mine, and a few months ago, feeling frustrated trying to get even one second of eye contact from our own children, we agreed that for their birthday photo sessions, we would trade. So, she shot Cohen for me, who will be turning three in just eight days (EIGHT DAYS?!?!), and I got to capture some photos of Julia, just a couple weeks before she turns one. It was not only fun to get to photograph a child who is half-way interested in me, but we also got to have them stay for the weekend, and all of the preparations of putting the sessions together was so much fun. I’m pretty sure that first dress that Julia wore was hot off her mom’s sewing machine for this session, and the hair chair, which used to be barn red, had a very fresh (like, one or two days old fresh) coat of pale blue paint.
And the results of all of that work and planning were nothing short of beautiful; don’t you think?
