sweet little leah | bismarck, nd newborn photographer

Oh, this little girl…I can’t even put into words how sweet she was.  She was three weeks old the day of our session, and I have to admit I was nervous about getting any sleepy newborn shots.  Usually, I photograph newborns no later than ten days old.  But she was a total pro at the sleeping thing!  She passed right out and I was even done in less time than usual!  Then, when I looked at her images for the first time, I wasn’t even sure how I was going to narrow it down.  ItView full post »

peeee doh | bismarck, nd photographer

Today, I was downloading some images from a recent session, and I started to feel bad looking through all of my cards because they were full of images of my kids from the last two months.  Just sitting there, not really forgotten, but definitely neglected.  I had to document these on my blog, though, because they show the result of what is a big milestone for every little boy…the first busted open head wound!  You know, I am actually surprised it has taken this long.  Cohen is nothingView full post »

Finally, some new photos of the sweetest little man ever.  This kid, I have to admit, has me wrapped around his cute little finger.  I don’t know what it is.  I mean, I remember thinking Rory was the most adorable baby, too, but I cannot get over him.  Maybe it is a thing baby boys have on their mamas?  In any event, he is extremely lucky I feel this way because his cuteness cancels out his naughtiness.  Oh man can he throw a tantrum!  And test my patience to the last thread, especiallyView full post »

fun with elias | bismarck, nd children’s photography

Last weekend, I traveled to Fargo to meet up with my friend Erin of Erin Vournas Photography for a fun little getaway.  I will say it was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a loooong time for one reason.  Sleep!  I went the night before just so I could have one glorious night in a hotel, all alone.  Just me and the bed.  And I slept for ten hours straight, only to be awakened by the alarm so that I wouldn’t miss out on this fun little mini session.  Of course, the weekend wasView full post »

the very cold m family | bismarck, nd family photographer

You’ve seen this family on my blog plenty of times now, but this session was quite interesting.  They had been waiting for the snowfall so they could have their photo taken with their snowmobiles, and they wanted it in time for Christmas cards.  Well, we have had no shortage on snow this year, so we got lucky there, but I wouldn’t say the weather on this day was ideal for an outdoor photo session.  BRRRRRR!  It only lasted about 15 minutes, but I think we got what we had set out toView full post »

another beautiful family | north dakota family photographer

I have been having so much fun with all of these great families I’ve had the opportunity to photograph in the past month!  The fall colors are out in full force, although I think the winds we’ve been having are going to be taking care of all of those leaves soon, if they haven’t already.  I’ve been trying to squeeze in all of my sessions in these first two weeks of October, just so we can take advantage of this nice weather!View full post »

the kurle family | bismarck, nd family photographer

This weekend, I had an amazing session with this family.  The weather could not have been better, and they were so much fun.  It is pretty clear that these three have a lot of fun at home.   The last time I worked with them was two years ago, and you can still see L’s face on my blog header.  Some of those images are still stuck in my favorites folder, and I think I have a whole lot more that will be joining them. He has changed so much in the last two years, but he’s stillView full post »

the gangness fam | bismarck, nd family photographer

I’ve known this family for probably over five years now, and I was so excited to photograph them and their little guy!  I wasn’t sure when it was going to happen, considering it was SNOWING the day before their session was scheduled.  But we held out for an extra day, and it turned out to be a perfect fall-ish day.  I know they waited a long time for him, and when his mom filled out my client questionnaire before our session, I could tell that she was smitten with him.  How couldView full post »

nicole | st. mary’s high school bismarck senior photographer

The last senior girl of the year, and I had so much fun with this session.  Nicole is such a fun and confident girl, and we had some good laughs!  I photographed Nicole’s sister a couple years ago, and it was so great to see her mom again, and to meet Nicole.  It was a beautiful night, and we were able to take advantage of the perfect light at the end of the day.  I had a really hard time deciding which images to post.View full post »
