See, I told you I’ve had an influx of senior girls!

Rory is really starting to learn so much at preschool. Sometimes I don’t even realize what they are learning there because when I ask her she says she doesn’t know, but then she surprises me with something. They made their own Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? books and I just loved it! The letters that she was trying to write on each page and the drawings…I just got a huge kick out of it, so I have to share.
The book is on our normal bed time rotation, and I still remember Mrs. Huber my grade school librarian reading it to me.

FYI…I have no idea how to get this video on the web without losing all of the quality, but I guess this is better than nothing.

Blue horse

Green frog (Love the tongue!)

Purple cat

White dog (Just trust me. She insists. Oh, and notice the hearts, too!)

Black sheep

Gold fish

Teacher (Just so you know…those are her knees. LOL!)

I don’t know. I think she could give Eric Carle a run for his money!

That is the only word that comes to mind when I think about the last couple of weeks. The time has gone by SO quickly, and I am a little bummed about it. Rory has been super sick for going on two weeks now, and sitting in the house with a sick girl watching Noggin all day is not what I had in mind for the last of our time together before I have to go back to work. So I’m sitting here, listening to my baby breathe over the monitor while I try to finish up the photos from this session with a permanent headache from pure exhaustion.
And Cohen will be seven weeks old on Saturday. Wow.
One exciting bit of news from the past couple weeks is that I got a new camera! I am itching to get some shots of Rory and Cohen with it, but I haven’t had the time or energy. You all should see how handsome Mr. Cohen is these days! I did get to do a session with it, though, and I cannot wait to get to work on the photos. For now, here are a couple more from the engagement shoot I did.

I had a photo shoot last night. It was the first outdoor shoot I’ve done since last fall, and it felt great to get back out there! Right when I snapped this, I couldn’t wait to edit it, so even though I should have gone to bed when Cohen did, I couldn’t. I’d say it was worth losing sleep over! Thanks Benjie and Cari for trusting me to photograph you, and for driving down. I can’t wait for the wedding!

The little guy wasn’t really feeling up to posing for the paparazzi the other day, so I’m going back for more. I did get this, though. Can I just say that now, more than ever, I cannot wait for our little one to arrive!

Two of our very best friends are expecting a little one just a few weeks before Baby Brother is due. This past weekend I hosted a baby shower for Jenny. A funny side story about Jenny…of course we all know that Rory is obsessed with Cinderella. One day, I was explaining to her that Jenny is her Godmother. Rory thought about it for a couple seconds, made a funny face, and said to me, "Jenny's not magic!" LOL! Godmother does not equal fairy godmother, and Jenny does not have the ability to turn pumpkins into a carriage.
Anyway…here are some of the details from the shower. We all know how much I love hosting parties, and I had lots of fun with this.
I had this cute banner made from an etsy seller, who I'm too lazy to link right now, but I did mention her in a ten on tuesday post awhile back.
Everyone signed this book with a little message for the mommy and baby.
Name tags for the guests. One lucky person had a surprise "poopy" in their diaper, and they won a prize!
A diaper cake. I loved how this turned out!
I adored those orange gerbera daisies!
Oreo truffles disguised as cupcakes! YUM!
Jenny said one of her cravings were gummy worms, so those were given as favors. I figured they went well with the birdy theme!
It was a fun little party! Now I can't wait to snuggle that little baby when he or she is born!
Also known as cinnamon rolls…
I made these for the church bake sale this weekend, and they are a must make! Seriously, so good, and they would be perfect for Easter weekend! I love the Pioneer Woman, and I am never afraid to try one of her recipes. I mean, her motto is "butter is the fifth food group." How could you go wrong?
Make sure you listen to the music.
That's what Rory has been saying for the last few days. Bad is an understatement.
Much of our state and parts of Minnesota are experiencing severe flooding due to rising waters of nearly every river and creek. Entire towns are being evacuated, and only adding salt to the wound, a major snow storm passed through, causing impossible travel conditions and dropping up to two feet of snow in some areas earlier this week.
Please keep everyone affected in your prayers. There is so much more ahead, and I just pray that everyone stays safe.
Thank you everyone who has emailed me asking if we are okay. We live far away from all of the flooding that has occurred in Bismarck, so all is well for our family.
Only one week, and we will hopefully find out if Thing 2 is a girl or a boy! Although, I am horribly impatient, and I am hoping that doesn't jinx anything, and this baby will cooperate when the time comes. Of course, all I'm really hoping to see is that all is well in there, and that we have a healthy baby. I thought for a little fun, I'd hold a contest.
Leave a comment below with your guess, and then next week I will take all the correct guesses and randomly draw a winner. If for some reason you can't leave a comment, you can email me your guess at everydayartphoto@gmail.com.
The prize: This cute mug, a biscotti, and a $20 Starbucks gift card! Even if you hate coffee like me, everyone loves Starbucks…hello Vanilla Bean Frappuccino!
So take a guess! You you have a 50/50 chance of being right!
