See, I told you I’ve had an influx of senior girls!

I’ve had an influx of senior girls this month! I love shooting seniors because of all the possibilities with locations, and also because we can take advantage of all the amazing light right before the sun goes down. Little ones are usually in bed by then! We scoured downtown Bismarck for locations, and Kelsey’s sister even came out for a little fun, too!

I just love repeat clients! One of the most awesome parts about being a photographer is seeing and capturing the changes of children as they grow up. From a sleeping newborn, to a smiley six month old, to a walking one year old. From a busy and curious three year old to a mature five year old heading off to kindergarten. I’ve seen so many changes in my repeat clients, but this one is a bit different, and a first for me. I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle when she was 15. Now, nearly two years later, she is getting ready to start her senior year!

I’ll admit, I was totally nervous when her mom told me they wanted photos of her with their boat. What do you do with a boat? There’s not going to be any shade!? I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, but I loved what we came up with. Michelle totally rocked it! And me? Well, I was completely soaked from the hips down. LOL!

And nothing says Bismarck like a photo in the Missouri River…

Wow, people! I never expected to get nearly 400 votes in this little ole’ contest! Thank you all. I thought it was so much fun. Okay, so the most important part…the winners.
It was a very close race. This image came in first by only 16 votes! Congrats to the M family! Your custom image box will be on your doorstep soon!

Coming in second…

And just because I’m in the giving mood, and I know how hard they tried, I am going to give the H family a set of three of these super cute mini accordian albums. These are another one of my favorite products. They are the perfect little brag book to keep in your bag or give to the grandparents!

And the winner of the free session and $100 print credit is…

Congrats to all of the winners, and thanks again everyone for participating! I hope you all will keep coming back to check out my work!

I’m so excited for my very first blog contest and giveaway of 2010! And it’s a big one, too, with almost $800 worth of prizes!
{the details}
Below, I’ve posted one image from every session I’ve done in the past six months. Clients, tell all of your family and friends to come here to my blog to vote for your photo. If you don’t know any of these people, just leave your vote for the photo you like the best. To vote, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post only, with the image number you are voting for. I will not count votes that are emailed, left on Facebook, or entered somewhere else, so that is very important. One vote per email address is allowed.
{the prizes}
The client with the winning photo will receive one of these beautiful, custom designed image boxes containing all the images from their session {$500 value}. These are one of my most favorite products! They are a wonderful way to display your images. In addition, you will receive 50% off a portrait session fee to be used toward a session in 2010 {$62.50 value}.
That’s not all, though…when the voting ends, I will randomly select one of the voters, who will receive a free portrait session in 2010 along with a $100 print credit {$225 value}! Session must take place within 40 miles of the Bismarck/Mandan area.

So, here you go! VOTE, VOTE, VOTE! Contest ends Tuesday, March 16th at 5:00 pm CST.
ETA: If you’ve never commented on my blog before, your comment will not show up until I approve it, so no worries if you don’t see it right away! And clients, you can definitely vote for yourself if you want!

It seems like I have been working on this forever, but I finally got my official website done! I love how it turned out, so I guess it was worth it. Click the image below to check it out!
Also, make sure you become a Facebook fan of Everyday Art Photography so you can stay up to date with my business and my blog! I’m doing my best to get it all figured out, but seriously, Facebook does not make it simple, so bear with me.
Oh, and to all my clients from 2009: watch for an awesome contest/giveaway for you as well as your friends and family next week!
This is my super sweet cousin {by marriage!}, Lexi. She was the lucky winner, and got to be my guinea pig since she was the first victim of the new camera. Thanks for having so much patience with me! I had a great time, and there are many, many more to come!

No, Kristie! Rory was helping me work on these tonight, and she was a bit confused at first thinking it was Katie. LOL! Aside from the freezing weather, I had a lot of fun on this shoot. Katie is my brother's girlfriend, and one of Rory's bestest buddies. Kristie is her sister, who is a senior this year and was in town visiting for the weekend. I can honestly say that those two together are complete goofballs! And Katie makes for a pretty good assistant.
I love this next photo. For not knowing her very well, I think I can still honestly say that this is SO her!
Thanks girls, for a fun session!
Well, I have been slacking on photo taking and proofing this week. We've been busy, and we had family in town this weekend. I spent most of this afternoon finishing up the editing of Jennifer's session, and I couldn't resist sharing a few more. I loved every single photo.
We went to the Pumpkin Patch for the third time on Saturday, and I took a few photos, so hopefully I can share some of those this week once I get them downloaded. I also completed a couple of fun sewing project, so I'll have to share those, too. I hope everyone had a good weekend. They are just too short; aren't they?
