happy valentine’s day! | bismarck child photography

It took some bribing to get the tie on him, so we made the bribe into a prop.  You do what you can when it comes to two year olds!  I love this little guy so much.  Here are some things that he LOVES at the moment…

puzzles, stickers, awsaurs (dinosaurs), making dinosaur sounds, juice boxes, buzz and woody (still), ecakes (pancakes), his choo choo trains, throwing balls (sometimes right at you when you’re not expecting it), doing EVERYTHING by himself, bath time, spaghetti, tooties (cookies), picking out his clothes in the morning, his Roryeah (Rory), and coloring

a lovely weekend | bismarck children’s photographer

Okay, it was fairly lovely except for the fact that it was actually cold out (for this winter, anyway), which means my kids were cooped up and bored to tears, Cohen had what I think was an allergic reaction to something he ate, which means a yucky tummy and diaper rash, and my computer is on the fritz, which means I have no idea if the color on these images will be totally wonky and I don’t even care anymore because it took me forever to get them edited.  SO…

The lovely part was that we did some fun Valentine activities.  Including making Rory’s first ever Valentine box for school, and also her Valentine cards for her friends.  Today Cohen and I also made some Valentine cookies and worked on his Valentine cards.  I gave up on editing the photos from today with Cohen, but I will have a fun post on Valentine’s Day of my handsome little man!

Rory came up with the idea for her bird house Valentine box.  I picked up some fun stickers for embellishing, and was quickly reminded of why I hate glitter.  But it made her happy, so that is what matters!  I thought her Valentine cards turned out super cute this year, too!

I love that now that she’s a little older, she actually likes having her photo taken.  While Erin and Juila were here and I had the backgrounds set up, I wanted to get some photos of Rory for her Valentine cards this year.  Pink and purple are her favorite colors!  She had been asking me to flat iron her hair for awhile, so I did, and wow she looks so much different to me.  And I think she looks so much older with straight hair, which is not a good thing!  Erin took some shots of her, too.  You can see them here…she’s such a goofball!  (Rory, not Erin!)

Off topic…I’m sure you’re all on Pinterest by now.  (If you aren’t, and would like an invite, just send me an email and I’ll send you one!)  I’ve now added a ‘pin it’ button, which you’ll see at the bottom of each blog post!  I want to make sure I’m doing my part to encourage your addiction.  Let’s face it, if you are on Pinterest, there’s a good chance you are addicted!  You can also follow me here.

Last weekend was so much fun!  I got to spend some time with this baby girl and her mama, my good friend Erin.  I am not going to complain that they now live much closer…hopefully we will get to see them more often now!  And I will never turn down a chance to photograph this sweet face.  Julia is such a happy baby, and I can’t believe how much she’s grown since I saw her last fall.  At one point during the session, Rory came over and Julia just burst into giggles.  Cutest thing ever!
