the e family

October 30, 2009

For awhile there, I wasn’t sure this session was going to happen.  The weather was against us, and it seemed that poor Mr. R was getting sick.  But thankfully, it all worked out, and we all had a fun time.  I hope you guys like your little preview, and sorry it took me so long!  Thanks again for coming out and braving the rain!

She really hasn’t been a fan of my camera lately, and Cohen just lays there so he is usually the target instead.  I’m just so grateful to have such a sweet little girl.  We can fight like any mother and daughter will, but then she will turn around and say the sweetest thing, talk baby talk and smother her baby brother, giggle over her own silliness, or come snuggle up with Cohen and I on the couch, and the tantrums and attitude are easily forgotten.  For a whole two minutes anyway!  haha!

Last night she said to me, “You are a great mommy, mama.”  {I could have cried!}  Then this morning as I was getting dresssed she said, “You look so pretty, mama.”

The house desperately needed cleaning last weekend, and since Cohen is afraid of the vacuum cleaner, I put him in his chair in the other room and asked Rory to watch him and come tell me if he started to cry.  I vacuumed a little, and then ran back to check on them.  When I got there, she had his feet covered up with her blankie, and she was singing him a song as she rocked his little chair.  After a few moments, she finally realized I was watching, and she looked at me beaming with pride…”I’m taking good care of him, mama!”

She is just growing up way too quickly!

Super B!

Okay, I realize that was really dorky, but Josey and I were having a discussion about this little guy this evening, and he told me that when I put these photos up, I had to call him that.  And, well, the photo fit!   He’s adorable, no matter what you call him, and we love him to death.

His daddy and Josey have been friends for…a long time.  In fact, I was told that before Josey and I could get married, the two of them had to get a divorce first.  And then this little man was born just over two weeks before Cohen.  They were born to be best friends.  I fear that, someday, we will have trouble on our hands.  Phineas and Ferb, anyone?

Yeah, we are definitely in trouble.  Only because I know that with faces so sweet, neither his mama nor I will be able to hold much against our baby boys!

So sorry to this family!  This week has gone by so quickly, and this is the first I’ve had a chance to look at their photos.  It was so nice to meet you all!

mr. r and his fam

October 18, 2009

It has been awhile since I’ve seen this little family.  Gosh, I couldn’t believe how big R is these days!  I asked him about a million questions, and I found out that he likes superheros, his favorite candy is Skittles, his favorite color is all of them, and he’s going to be a Ninja Turtle for Halloween.  Oh, and even though he’s only four, he is already set to be married to a girl in his class at school!  haha!

benjie & cari {the wedding}

October 16, 2009

As I mentioned before, we traveled out to Whitefish, Montana for the wedding of Benjie and Cari.  Located right on Whitefish Lake, the lodge where the events of the weekend took place was beautiful.  The cold, crisp air, the smell of burning wood, the warmth of a fireplace around every corner, cozy sitting areas, and amazing family and friends made for a wonderful wedding weekend.

I was truly honored to be a part of this couple’s special day, and it was so fun for me to be able to step back and take in all the little moments and interactions between the couple and those around them.  My favorite moment of the day was immediately after the ceremony was over.  They hadn’t seen each other before the wedding, so when they came out of the tent and it was just the two of them {and me, the thrid wheel…lol!}, their pure excitement and love was just so sweet!

home sweet home

October 14, 2009

This past weekend, Josey, Cohen, and I headed out to Whitefish, Montana for our friends’ wedding.  It was a busy and exhausting trip, but the place was beautiful.  Right when Josey walked in the door of our room, I told him that we should have brought Rory along so that we wouldn’t have to go home!  I really wish we would have more time to spend out there.  I guess we will just have to go back!

We found out that Cohen really isn’t a fan of riding in the carseat.  Who could blame him?

He was a fan of the destination, though.

On the way out there, we came across quite a bit of this, which only made the trip longer.

You’d think that on a 13 hour drive I would get bored.  Nope.  Between entertaining him, trying to get him to stop screaming,  feeding him, holding the pacifier in his mouth so that he wouldn’t wake up, pumping so I could feed him again,  sticking the pacifier back in his mouth…I was plenty busy!

To say we were happy to get home is an understatement.  Not only was the drive less than fun, I missed my Rory.

Meet my new little neice!  Isn’t she SO sweet?  She is the most petite little thing.  Even though they are only a little more than a week apart, she makes Cohen look like a monster!

We already love her to pieces…

just like that

October 2, 2009

I came home from work this afternoon, picked him up out of his bed, and he was the sweetest, smiley little guy.  So I ran and grabbed my camera.  He went from “I’m so happy to see you, mama!” to “Okay, now I want my food!” just like that.  So this is all I got.  I guess I’ll have to be quicker next time.  I was happy to snuggle with him, though.

And I’m not kidding, when I first took a look at him, he looked different.  How does that happen in a matter of 9 hours?  And then when I went through these few photos, I saw it.  Josey.  He really is starting to look a lot like his daddy.
