A little bribe

goes a long way.  One of Rory's most favorite things right now is going to the park.  We are going home to Montana this weekend, and she has been talking about playing on the "park" at Grandpa's house for a several days.  Tonight, we swung by the McCloud's house to drop off their proof book.  They live right by this park that I have been wanting to check out for pictures for awhile now, so we stopped.

This is the, "Rory, if you let mommy take your picture you can play at the park," shot.  Too funny!

I think this is a new favorite for me!

Finally, she got to play at the park.

Like I mentioned before, we are headed to Montana for the weekend, and I think we are all a little excited.  We get to see everyone, and we are going to the fair.  I've been telling Rory about the ferris wheel and cotton candy all week!  Also, tomorrow when we get there, I get to do a photo session with the super cute kiddos of one of my high school classmates.  It should be fun, and I plan to come back with lots of photos to share!

Too hot

Like I said before, I am so sick of this heat.  It’s supposed to be over 90 degrees all week long.  Some of you, who have it much worse than that, may be laughing at the thought of 90 being hot.  Well, it is for me.  Anyway, the point of my story is that it was too hot to go out for a photo shoot, but Rory was begging to go outside, so we sat in the shade and ate popsicles.  Rory said hers was “licious.”

Poor girl turns beet red just like her mother when she gets hot.  Apparently, eating popsicles is serious business because this was the look on her face in every shot I took.

Funny story about this little dress she is wearing.  I packed it with when we went on our trip, and the minute she saw it in the suitcase she wanted to wear it.  After a couple of fights about it, we were able to hide it from her, but she still asked all weekend to wear the darn dress.  Last night, as I was unpacking, she spotted it again, and I finally let her wear it to bed last night.  This morning we were in such a rush to get out the door that I left her in it, and she was beside herself that she got to wear it for the day.  As her popsicle melted, she got some on her dress, which then caused another fit that it was “all messy!”  Geez, who knew a girl could love a dress so much?  I am guessing this may just be the beginning of the I wanna dress myself stage!

We’re back

and would you believe that I didn’t take my camera out the entire time we were gone?  Horrible, I know.  I guess I just wasn’t all that inspired by our stay at the Holiday Inn!  That, and we didn’t have much time between arranging wedding flowers and shopping.  But I did get Rory some cute new outfits with photo shoots in mind!  Maybe if the weather holds up tonight, we will go out and find somewhere to take some photos.  Can I just say that I cannot wait for fall?  My gosh, I am sick of this heat, and every store that I went to this past weekend was full of cute fall stuff.

Rory was such a good girl on our big trip.  In the car, we watched Charlotte’s Web about three and a half times, and she now has the entire story and all the characters memorized.  It’s such a cute movie, and much less annoying that Dora, let me tell you.  She had a blast on the water slides and in the pool at the hotel, and got to spend a day with Grandpa Kevin who came to visit her.  By Saturday evening she was saying that she wanted to go home.  She was worried about her babies.  She had the most serious look on her face when she told me she needed to “carry ‘em [take care of them].  Babies sad.  Cryin’.”  Poor girl was worried about Abby, Joey, and Nora.  I told her that Grandma was babysitting them, and that made her feel a little better!:o)  Sure enough, the first thing she did when we walked in the door was go check on those babies.

Gone

We’re leaving for vacation today, and will be gone through the weekend.  I’ll catch up on emails when I get back.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

What a great day!

Today, Carole was on vacation so Rory and I got to spend the whole day together.  I had been planning to take Rory to the pool since I found out that we would be staying home today, and we were both quite excited.  Rory had an absolute blast!  She actually liked the pool itself better than the splash area, but yeah, I was not about to attempt to take my camera in the pool.  I’m not that desperate for a picture!

A little hesitant at first…

Another great thing about today is that the wonderful UPS man brought me a package.  The proof book from my first session!  I was so happy to see the photos in print, I could have cried.  Check it out!

All packaged up for it’s lucky owner!  I hope you liked them, Joelle.
