Santa was here!

Rory has had such a fun time with all the Christmas happenings this year.  She has been a bit confused, though!  It started with a trip to the mall to visit Santa.  After watching several kids before us scream and cry at the sight of Santa, Rory hopped right up on his lap and said, "Hi Santa.  I want a doll house."  She was so good, even wishing him a Merry Christmas and giving him a hug, but once she got off his lap, she thought she was going to beView full post »

Merry Christmas from our family!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!  The images below are from our Christmas card.  I couldn't find any good way to share them, so this will have to do!  God bless!     {click to see this one bigger}  View full post »

Sneek peak

I got Rory out last Friday for a photo shoot for our Christmas cards.  It was my last chance, seeing how on Saturday we got tons of snow and have had sub-zero temps since.  I had about 15 minutes, and I managed to get some good shots, but I don't want to share until the cards are officially sent and received.  This will do for now.  I just love everything about those cheeks!  They look the same as they did the day she was born.View full post »

I think it’s safe to say

that we have a big girl in our house now!  Rory is officially potty trained!  Actually, we have been working on it for awhile now, but I didn't want to say anything until she went a few weeks accident-free.  She did awesome with #1, but had a little trouble with #2.  I think she has it all down now, though!  And can I just say that she has the cutest little butt without that puffy diaper on!   The potty chart I made for her is now pretty full ofView full post »

I’m still alive!

Wow, I have been missing from this blog!  I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!  We were gone Wednesday through Sunday in Montana for the holiday, and both before I left and since I've been back I have been a) not feeling well due to some cold/sinus thing, which has now turned into a nagging cough b) swamped with photography related stuff and c) crazy busy trying to keep my household afloat…piles of laundry, cleaning, all that fun stuff.  Right now, I amView full post »

I’ve been tagged!

Thank you Angie.  I'm supposed to post eight random things about myself.  Here goes… 1.  My husband and I have the same birthday, which happens to be tomorrow, so that's why I thought of it.  Around the time we started dating, somehow birthdays came into the coversation and when I told him mine was November 22, he said, "so is mine!"  I thought he was lying, and that was the worst pick-up line I had ever heard.  Turns out, it wasView full post »

Quote for the day…

Yesterday, at preschool, Rory made a little stick horse out of paper and a wrapping paper tube.  There is a piece of felt over it, which serves as a saddle.  Last night, she galloped in on it, and told me, "Mommy!  My horsie has a SALAD."  "You mean a saddle?"  "No, a SALAD."  Okay, Rory!  I died.View full post »

Thank you!

It started out as a hobby, a way to capture the real life moments of my daughter and my family, quickly turned into more of an obsession and a passion, and this summer, into a business, Everyday Art Photography.  I jumped into it thinking I would just have some fun, take some photos of friends and family, and get some good hands-on experience.  But then it became more. Before I knew it, I was turning people down.  I went back and forth with it.  I have a "real"View full post »

Sinner-ella

Oh Rory Jean Cinderella, you are quite the pretender.  For the last two weeks, you have declared yourself as Sinner-ella.  I call you by the name your daddy and I gave you, and you quickly correct me, "No mom, I Sinner-ella."  Oh, my mistake.  {And by the way, what happened to mommy?  When did I become just mom?}  We pull into the driveway, and you exclaim, "Here's my castle!"  You are quite the princess! You spend hours takingView full post »
